What surfaces work best?
Hardwood | Best dribble response and quietest bounce |
Tile / laminate | Works well; slightly more echo than hardwood |
Low-pile carpet | Good for footwork drills, reduced dribble height |
High-pile / shag carpet | Not recommended, as limits dribble height |
Outdoor / rough pavement | Will wear down foam surface over time |
Do I need the Quiet Basketball to use Nex Playground?
No. It's an optional accessory. All games in the Nex catalog work without any accessories.
Training Ground
The Quiet Basketball pairs with Training Ground: a collection of augmented reality drills designed to build coordination, agility, power, endurance, focus, and stability.
Basketball drills cover four areas:
Ball handling: dribbling progressions, crossovers, and change-of-pace drills
Footwork: pivot work, defensive stance, and movement patterns
Agility and coordination: reaction drills, lateral movement, and speed work
Athletic foundation: balance, body control, and spatial awareness
Training Ground currently focuses on ball handling, footwork, and athletic foundation. It does not include shooting or passing mechanics. The drill library is updated regularly.
