Creating and managing a Trusted Connection

This article goes over how to create a Trusted Connection for Connected Play, and how to manage it afterwards.

Written by Eduardo

To enable Connected Play, the Family Tools menu first needs to be configured in your System Settings. Adults can create a Trusted Connection by sharing a secure code with another adult logged into their Play Pass account. You'll see your code on screen to share with the other adult, and create a nickname for the connected Playground (e.g. Smith's family).

Connections are established through a mutual authentication process where both sides explicitly approve the relationship in real time. After both adults authenticate and approve, you'll see a confirmation that the Playgrounds are connected, and Connected Play features become available between those trusted accounts.

How to create a Trusted Connection

After configuring your Family Tools and creating a security pattern, you will see the Connected Play menu on your Nex Playground. You can also visit https://nex.fun/connect.

To create a connection, follow these steps:

  1. Visit https://nex.fun/connect and sign into your account. Then, tap Get Started:

  2. Hit Let's start, then you will receive the code to be shared with the other household. This code is only valid for one hour.

  3. Hit I shared my code, then enter the code from the other household, and wait for them to connect. The codes are only valid for one hour:

  4. Name your connection, and then you are ready to play together!

Managing your Trusted Connections

You can view, create, and remove Trusted Connections at any time by scanning the QR code in the Family Tools menu on your Playground. Alternatively, you can visit https://nex.fun/connect.

  1. Select the connection you want to update

  2. Select Rename or Disconnect
