The remote is used for navigation: selecting and starting games, and moving through menus.
The remote is not needed for gameplay itself. Most games on Nex Playground are motion-based, so you'll only need one remote regardless of how many people are playing.
Your remote also has a built-in microphone
Your Nex Playground remote includes a built-in microphone, which select games can use for voice-based features. Please see our blog post on the topic: Voice Controls Are Coming to Nex Playground.
The microphone is only active while an on-screen prompt asks you to speak — it switches off automatically as soon as the prompt is gone. No audio is saved or stored. If you'd rather not use voice features at all, the microphone can be turned off within any game that supports it.
