There are two possible reasons why your Nex Playground could be turning on by itself:
Issue 1: HDMI-CEC Interference
Some smart TVs have a HDMI device sync feature called “HDMI-CEC” that may turn on Nex Playground unexpectedly. To avoid this, please either:
Unplug the HDMI cable connecting your TV and Nex Playground.
Look up instructions on how to turn off “HDMI-CEC” for your TV brand/model.
Issue 2: Faulty Remote Control
The Nex Playground remote may be faulty and send random "wake up signals" to Nex Playground. To confirm if this is the case, please follow the steps below:
Turn both Nex Playground and TV ON.
Make sure that the Nex Playground remote is connected by confirming that the LED at the bottom of the Nex Playground Remote is ON.
Turn both Nex Playground and TV OFF by either:
Turning off your TV using the TV remote.
Turning off Nex Playground by long pressing “Home” for 5s on the Nex Playground remote.
Check that both the LED next to Nex Playground’s camera is now and LED at the bottom of the Nex Playground remote are now OFF.
Wait to see if the TV/Nex Playground turns on by itself. If it does, check if the LED at the bottom of the Nex Playground remote is now ON.
If the LED is ON, please reach out to us at
