Important Disclaimer
Playground's Wi-Fi does not support any Wi-Fi network that requires logging in (captive portals). Generally, captive portals are found in Wi-Fi networks of hotels, schools, airports, etc. You can identify a captive portal if the network asks for an additional username and/or password after you've already connected.
The Wi-Fi settings on Nex Playground do not support Proxy settings.
Playground's Wi-Fi requires access to specific domains and ports. This should not be relevant to most use-cases, as routers' default settings do not block connection to them. However, when using enterprise grade router or networks, it may be required.
Please white list the following domains from your firewall:
npg.games
nexplayground.com
And unblock the following port:
17443
If you encounter an error while trying to connect to a Wi-Fi network, please try connecting to a different Wi-Fi network or mobile hotspot to check if the issue persists.
If you are able to connect to a different network or mobile hotspot, it indicates a potential issue with the original network.
Troubleshooting “No Internet Connection” Error
If you encounter this error, it might mean that the network you are trying to use requires captive portal access. Playground might connect to the network, but it may not be connected to the Internet as it cannot bypass captive portals.
If this is the case, try a different network, or try a mobile hotspot.
Troubleshooting "Incorrect Password" Error
Check your router
Most home Wi-Fi routers have a sticker/label on the bottom/back. This label will include the Wi-Fi network name and password.
Check a device that is already connected
If you have another device connected to this network, you may be able to find the password saved in the device's network settings. This option is widely available on Windows 7 and above, macOS, iOS, and Android.
If you've connected to this network in the past:
Go into the Network Settings to forget the network and try connecting again.
Troubleshooting “Can’t Connect to Internet”
Check if the network requires a captive portal
If you encounter this error, it might mean that the network you are trying to use requires captive portal access. Playground is unable to connect to this type of network.
If this is the case, try a different network, or try a mobile hotspot.
If the network does not require a captive portal:
First, please make sure that your Wi-Fi network is active and functioning normally (e.g. network is not unstable, speed is not slow, etc. ).
Please also review the “Network Info” to make sure everything is correct.
You can also try the following:
Reboot your Internet router (provided by your Internet Service Provider) and your Wi-Fi modem/extender, if you have one.
Reboot Nex Playground by unplugging and re-plugging the power cable after 10 seconds.
Try to connect again.
Troubleshooting “Something Went Wrong” Error
Please select “Try again” to retry.
If the issue still persists, please try the following:
Reboot your Internet router (provided by your Internet Service Provider) and your Wi-Fi modem/extender, if you have one.
Reboot Nex Playground by unplugging and re-plugging the power cable after 10 seconds.
Try to connect again.
Troubleshooting "No Wi-Fi Found" error
If you've already tried again, please try entering the Network details manually.
If it does not help as well, please try the following:
Reboot your Internet router (provided by your Internet Service Provider) and your Wi-Fi modem/extender, if you have one.
Reboot Nex Playground by unplugging and re-plugging the power cable after 10 seconds.
Check if there are any changes.
